Maritime sales veteran Caylor to lead business development at Ports of Indiana

Doug Caylor has joined Ports of Indiana as the organization’s Business Development Director. Caylor has worked in maritime sales and operations for 30 years as vice president of business development for Castlen Terminals & Marine, sales director for American Commercial Barge Lines, transload and terminal operations manager for Arrow Material Services and international steamship line sales for MID-SHIP Group.

“Doug has spent three decades leading maritime operations and sales for global companies  – particularly along the Ohio River,” said Ports of Indiana CEO Jody Peacock. “Our Ports of Indiana team has unprecedented industrial development opportunities in front of us, at all three of our ports, for domestic and global trade. Doug’s professionalism and industry knowledge will play a key role in developing new partnerships and business opportunities for our ports.”

Ports of Indiana’s three-port system handled 13 million tons of cargo in 2024, the second-highest total in its 60-year history, led by high-value cargos such as steel, specialty grains and soy, minerals, ethanol and coal. Major multi-year infrastructure investments totaling more than $200 million are ongoing at all three ports to expand multimodal capabilities and add capacity and value-added services for customers.

“Ports of Indiana’s explosive growth has been incredible to watch and I’m honored to join the team and contribute to further growth,” said Caylor. “Between the State of Indiana’s business-friendly climate, the Ports team’s customer focus and shovel-ready acreage at all three ports, I’m eager to help the team sustain this momentum.”

Caylor is a native of Pittsburgh and attended Slippery Rock University. He is based out of the Ports of Indiana-Jeffersonville office. To learn more about partnering with Ports of Indiana to grow your business, contact Caylor at (812) 282-2096 or via e-mail.
